The other historical strategy title is the iconic Civilization. Now on its fifth (and some say best) instalment, the Sid Meiers developed franchise shows no signs of slowing down. The turn-based strategy title focuses more on the building of a nation than the tearing down of another, but the way you go about your rise to power is up to you. Be an evil dictator or pacifist, it does not matter. All that matters is that you are a strong leader. If you have this trait, the world is yours.
Next up is the Relic Entertainment standout, Company of Heroes. CoH brings squad based, real-time action to the fray, and does so in grand fashion, allowing players to feel as though they are in the trenches with the brave souls who fought and died for their country.. Using the war-torn fields of WWII as the setting, you must take advantage of battlefield awareness and limited military resources to complete your stated objective, be it a rescue mission, recon, infiltration, or an all out skirmish that requires you to take out every last enemy combatant.
